First, the Crown and Earl Marshal have approved the proposed youth rapier rules on an experimental basis, and have appointed me provisional Kingdom Youth Rapier Marshal in order to administer the program. But before any youth can fence, we need a marshallate. I know I had previously solicited volunteers for the youth marshallate. However, as that was some time ago, and before the recent changes to Sec. XI and Society policy, I'd like to start with a clean slate. So, if you are (or are still) interested in becoming a youth marshal, please e-mail me privately. When I have a list of candidates, I will forward their names and addresses to the East Kingdom Seneschal. The Seneschal will then send each applicant the forms which must be completed to perform the background check. Each applicant will be responsible for sending those forms to the SCA corporate offices. Further questions about this process should be directed to the EK Seneschal. Second, we will need a permanent Kingdom Youth Rapier Marshal to administer the program after I step down. People interested in the position should contact me directly for further information. I am excited to see this process moving forward again.
